Chiton presents lifesaving awards

16/07/2008 4:14:00 PM
SURF LIFESAVING: Last Saturday Chiton Rocks Surf Lifesaving Club held its Annual General Meeting and awards presentation night at the Hotel Victor.

Fifty-one people (plus kids) enjoyed the event which was followed by more drinks, 8 ball and intelligent bar conversation back at the club.

Chiton is in good shape and the membership base is increasing. The nippers program is proving especially popular, which is a great sign for the club's future.

Award winners on the night were:

Billy Joe Casey / Jude O' Sullivan - Best New Members

Lindy Lewis - Excellence in Club Service

Leeann Pech - Most Outstanding Patrol Member

Barrie Paynter - President’s Trophy

Jig McLaren - Club Champion

Wombat Conlon - Leg Rope Surf Trophy

Aaron and Lindy Lewis - Most Patrol Hours

James Chinner, Darren Carlile and Chris Morgan - Bronze Medallions

Bex and Aaron Leary - Surf Rescue Certificate

Special awards went to:

Barrie Paynter, Paul Frost and Peter Byrne - 1000 Hours of Surf Patrol

Lindy Lewis - State President’s Award
