NETBALL: Encounter Bay Netball Club has another milestone player in its midst.
Annie Kraft played her 300th game for the club during the season and celebrated with friends and teammates after Saturday's match.
"It was a bit of a surprise for me on the weekend and certainly a bit of a highlight of my career for the club to recognise this milestone," Annie said.
Annie began playing for the Bays in H Grade when she was about six-years-old and has since played A, A2 and B2 Grades including playing in the premiership team for the Encounter Bay A Grade.
"That year we came into fourth by just a per cent and then went on to win the grand final against Victor who we had a bit of rivalry with so that was even better," Annie said.
She has always been a defender because of her height and said she thrives on turning the ball over and seeing it result in a goal for her team.
"I love the team and the club, it's a great club and I enjoy the game because it's a team sport and the bond with the girls," she said.
Annie's B2 team is sitting second on the ladder going into finals and she said a premiership would finish her season off just nicely.
But regardless she will continue playing for as long as her body lets her and is also getting more involved in the club with the coaching side of things as her daughters, seven-year-old Georgia and five-year-old Brooke, come up through the ranks.
